“revamped digital comics shopping experience”

… as part of the main Amazon site. So, how is that good news? Because hopefully it’ll happen in a way that integrates it fully and give comics full public prominence. Rather than having the same little-known walled-garden, but now hanging off the Amazon.com domain? Sounds like the answer to that one is ‘maybe, sort-of’, since there’s a mention that ComiXology will soon be bundled with other subs…

“Kindle Unlimited and Prime members will be able to borrow from a large library of graphic novels and manga”.

Nice. But only “in select countries”.

However (don’t laugh) we are also promised better and “flexible filtering and sorting” on the new site. Given the main Amazon’s dire record on keyword search, findability, categories and taste-matching, I wouldn’t hold your breath on that one. Prime search is apparently even worse. ‘Confusion marketing’ on search is Amazon’s way, and my guess is it’ll be likely to stay that way.
